On August 18, the 2021 ' Central China CNC Cup ' National Machinery Industry Product Quality Innovation Competition co-sponsored by the China Machinery Industry Federation and the people 's government of Wenling City was officially launched.  With the theme of ' new era, new thinking and high quality ', the competition aims to build a quality innovation platform for the machinery industry with government guidance, industry services, enterprise subjects and social participation through the joint efforts of all parties, and select a number of independent innovative high-quality products and high-quality enterprises with advanced technology, good consistency, high reliability level and strong product adaptability to meet the rising market demand and promote the high-quality development of the industry.

Wang Ruixiang, Director of Competition Organizing Committee and President of China Machinery Industry Federation, made a profound analysis of the current situation and development direction of mechanical industry quality. He said that to hold the competition, the first is to improve the political position and strengthen the sense of urgency and responsibility to build a strong manufacturing country and a strong quality country. We should firmly establish the consciousness of quality, brand and competition, adhere to the value orientation of quality first, adhere to the high-quality development, win by quality, and take the development path of quality and efficiency. The second is to continue to carry out quality improvement actions to provide solid support for the fight against ' two modernizations '. It is necessary to give full play to the leading role of benchmarking enterprises, give full play to the professional characteristics of manufacturing single champions, specialized and special new ' small giants ' enterprises and the brand advantages of industrial clusters, strengthen collaborative research, speed up the short board, and promote the strong chain of industrial chain. The third is to vigorously stimulate the vitality of quality innovation and improve quality and energy for high-quality industrial development. Focusing on providing a better quality innovation environment and services for the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, Liu Duo, Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that first, we must firmly implement innovation-driven. Manufacturing enterprises must have an international perspective, continuously strengthen multi-dimensional innovation, and improve the overall quality and efficiency of the enterprise. The second is to continuously consolidate the quality technology and process foundation of the machinery industry. Particular attention should be paid to the overall design and reliability enhancement tests of the entire life cycle of mechanical products, focusing on the collaborative research of production, teaching, research and application in areas such as core basic components to improve product quality and reliability. The third is to strengthen overall quality management. Guide and encourage companies with weak management foundations to use advanced and applicable quality management tools and quality engineering techniques; improve reliability design, lean production, and quality information traceability capabilities. The fourth is to strengthen the construction of basic public service capacity of industrial technology. It supports professional institutions to actively carry out technical services such as quality diagnosis and improve the quality and efficiency of enterprises.

At the meeting, Chen Xuedong, the director of the evaluation committee, made relevant instructions on the evaluation principles and scoring criteria of the competition.  He said that the focus of this competition was to select the solutions for quality innovation projects, the capabilities in R & D, testing and verification, and the product level and market satisfaction of the results achieved through quality innovation, which was a useful attempt to promote quality improvement.
